Well, I was right on this week. And I think it was the right choice. Jason knew he blew it... Like he said , he shot the tambourine man. I'm glad he lasted this long (despite what Julie and Ruthann say) but it was time for him to go. At least he can pursue his own career now. If he can remember the words to more than one song at a time he might actually do well.

I thought everyone did pretty good last night... Except for Jason. I usually like Jason (despite what Ruthann says), but last night was a train wreck. He completely butchered "I Shot the Sheriff". He would have been much better off doing Eric Clapton's version of the song rather than Bob Marley's, but regardless, he couldn't pull it off at all. And then his version of "Tambourine Man" was atrocious even if he hadn't forgotten the words. Sorry Jason, but you were worse than amateur last night and definitely not a professional. You gotta go.
As for the others... I thought David Cook rocked on both songs. "Hungry Like the Wolf" was decent, but "Baba O'Riley" was awesome. I thought Syesha did a great job on "Proud Mary", but for me "Change Is Gonna Come" was just OK. I didn't hate it as much as Randy, but didn't like it as much as Paula and Simon. And (though I hate to say it) I think David Archuletta did a great job on both songs. I agree with Ruthann that he was still boring, smulchy, and typical, but both "Stand By Me" and "Love Me Tender" were right up his alley. He nailed them both, even if I still find him a good recipe for sleep.

Okay sorry but Jason needs to go. He is way past due. How or why he out lasted Carly and Michael Johns I'll never understand. I did vote for David Cook again - got through really early this time....hmmmm....that might be a bad sign.

Tuesday peformances
1.Little David --okay consistent, sappy but good
2. David Cook - I thought Hungry Like the Wolf was just okay but thought the Who song was really good.
3. Syhesha - really quite good on both songs I thought.
4. Jason - don't get me started.
Note worthy -- my 84 year old mother's favoire is David Cook (she doesn't even like rock either).She really liked Michael Johns the best (as did I). You go mama!

Hey Jim that was a good story with Paula and Ryan talking the day after about Paula's mishap. Sounded a little crazy for sure.

I did like Brooke as well, but it wasn't all that surprising to see her go. At this point, the next two week's eliminations won't be surprising unless either of the Davids go. I would be stunned if Syesha or Jason beat out either of them. I just really, really hope we don't have another Chris Daughtry situation with David Cook getting blindsided by an elimination. I think Brooke and Jason will benefit the most from being eliminated and getting a chance to actually sing songs that are in their wheelhouse. Certain genres really expose them I think. I'm looking forward to seeing what both of them do after Idol...and obviously David Cook will be great after that show.

I agreed 100% with Brooke leaving, but Jason should have been in the botton two instead of Alysha(sp???). Alysha is getting better every week and Jason and Brooke have been on a down hill slide for weeks.I still think that it will be between the two Davids, but she deserves to be in the top 3 for sure. Hopefully voting goes with talent and not popularity.

I still love Neil Diamond. What was that thing growing on his Mom's head? Looked like some kind of space helmet with hair growing out of it.
I still say that Paula was on something the night before.

Sorry George, I know you and Julie are a fan. She did seem to be slipping lately as you say. I do have to say that last night when it was between Brook, David Cook and Shyesha I was paniced that David would go --- I did vote for the first time remember.

Well, Brook was one of our favorite contestants. Julie and I are sad to see her go. Her performances have been slipping in the last few weeks. I think the pressure finally got to her last week and this week. She hasn't seemed as comfortable on stage as she did in the beginning and it's affected her music quite a bit. Well, we'll be keeping an eye on Brook and hoping for an album. I think she could have a successful career as a folk/pop artist, like Tori Amos, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, etc. We'll see... Good luck in the future Brook!
