Over the last year, hackers have developed a number of techniques to compromise sites written in ASP and ColdFusion. These vulnerabilities effect AbleCommerce 5.5 sites. These vulnerabilities are referred to as cross-scripting and SQL injection attacks. Sites vulnerable to these attacks are no longer PCI compliant, which may be part of your credit card merchant agreement. These security updates protect against cross-scripting, SQL injection and other attacks.
This security enhancement is a combination of updated security code written by Web 2 Market and the implementation of that code in the site. Specifically, it’s a rewrite of the GetParameter function to automatically strip out potentially malicious code submitted via URL, form, variable, SQL, CGI, etc. The update is a one-time fee for the code and the time to implement the code.
