Magento Remarketing
Have you ever had the feeling of being stalked around the web after visiting a Magento web site? You keep seeing ads for a site you just visited? It’s not a coincidence, its Magento remarketing. The goal of remarketing is to get visitors to you site back to your site to either finish a transaction or buy more. If someone has visited your site, aren’t they likely to be an excellent prospect?
When a visitor arrives on your site, a cookie gets placed in his browsers. Afterwords, when that visitor is on a site in a remarketing network, the cookie is detected, and your ad is displayed. Your site does not display the ads.
Remarketing Networks
Remarketing networks include Google and AdRoll. They are a couple of the bigger ones. As of now, AdRoll has further reach. However, many merchants, it’ll be a bit easier to set up in their existing Google Adwords account. For a more complete list or remarketing companies, visit http://usermarketing101.com/profiling-the-best-retargeting-companies. Each of these companies have slightly different product offerings. For example, Perfect Audience lets you trade code snippets with other Perfect Audience clients.
Cost
Costs are pretty minimal. You’ll need to add the snippet of code to your site, which should take half an hour or less. You’ll want to create eight or ten small images to fit different ad formats on different sites. However, if you just want to experiment, the major networks have ad creation tools that make it seem like a snap to create the ads.
Also, you’ll need to pay per click or per ad shown. You can set your own bid, anywhere from a nickel a click and up.
Finally, give it a try! It’ll just take a couple hours to get going. Here are a couple sites to start:
