How It Works:Working with the AbleCommerce inventory functionality, a message and hypertext link are displayed when inventory reaches zero. After clicking on the link, a form pops up in a new layer that allows the customer to enter their signature. The email address is then stored. A daily task runs that checks updates to inventory and customer notification requests. When a product inventory is over zero again, an email notification is sent to the customer, letting them know the product is back in stock.
The email template is manageable from within the AbleCommerce email templates in the admin. The parameters available in the email template are: Product name, SKU, date of request and the hypertext link to the product.
